【Experience】Curious About the EXPO2025 OSAKA?
Set to take place in 2025, the Osaka-Kansai Expo is drawing global attention.
But it’s not just a world-class event—it’s also an incredibly fun destination for travelers.
In this post, we’ll share a report focused on the pavilions our staff visited, offering a glimpse of the atmosphere and attractions.
Overall Highlights of the Venue
One of the first things you’ll notice is the “Grand Roof Ring,” a massive circular wooden structure surrounding the site. It’s the world’s largest wooden construction and a must-see for architecture enthusiasts. Many pavilions were designed by world-renowned architects, offering plenty of visual inspiration.
Pavilion Reservations and Crowds
Most pavilions require same-day reservations, and the popular ones fill up quickly. Planning ahead is key. However, many areas and events can still be enjoyed without a reservation. You’ll easily find enough to keep you engaged all day long.
Expo Theme and Dates
The theme for Expo 2025 is “Designing Future Society for Our Lives.”
The event runs from April 13 to October 13, 2025, lasting about six months. Ticket prices vary by date, so we recommend checking the official website. Discounts are available for advance purchases.
Mascot Character “Myaku-Myaku”
Expo 2025’s official mascot “Myaku-Myaku” has a unique look and playful movements that have made it popular both in Japan and abroad. There’s also a smaller version called “Ko-Myaku.”
Japan’s love for character culture is alive and well here, with plenty of merchandise to collect.
We’d like to introduce just a few of the many incredible pavilions!
EARTH MART (Japan)
This pavilion explores the future of food and its connection to our daily lives through interactive experiences. Rich in design and engaging for all ages, it features real ingredients, sensory-based exhibits, and thought-provoking installations.
Future of Life (Japan)
This pavilion invites visitors to consider a future where humans and robots coexist. You can interact with androids and explore art installations centered on life itself. It offers a blend of cutting-edge tech and philosophical insight.
Germany Pavilion
As a leader in sustainability, Germany’s pavilion showcases eco-friendly technology and future city planning. It includes interactive exhibits, hands-on displays, and multilingual staff who are happy to assist.
Netherlands Pavilion
Visitors use an orb device to explore this pavilion’s exhibits. It’s themed around water and nature, offering calming spaces and presentations on coexisting with the environment. A peaceful, inspiring experience.
Brazil Pavilion
With vibrant decorations and lively music, the Brazil Pavilion is a celebration of energy and culture. It features dynamic, body-engaging exhibitions that highlight Brazil’s diverse traditions and artistic flair.
Poland Pavilion
A fusion of tradition and contemporary art, Poland’s exhibits include historical displays and sound-based installations. The space is designed to engage the senses and offer a rich, immersive experience.
Things to Keep in Mind
Summer can be extremely hot, so spring and fall visits are ideal. That said, evenings near the sea can get chilly, so bring layers. Restaurants are often crowded and pricey, but there are several convenience stores inside the venue. A mobile battery charger is essential.
Official Website & Event Info
While the official site offers plenty of information, many special events are only announced on-site or through the official Expo app and Instagram. Stay updated to make the most of your visit.
In Conclusion
The Osaka Expo is more than a stopover—it’s a full-day destination worth exploring. Whether you already have plans to visit Japan or are just starting your itinerary, this global event is one to add to your list.
See you soon in Japan!
